my top pick boston restaurant!

gibson house museum

the gibson house was maybe built in the mid 1800s by some rich woman. i blacked out during a lot of the tour guide's info session because there was a lot of, "oh, and then the estate reverted back to charles jr..." etc etc. also the gibson house is a 501(c)(3) and asks you for donations on top of your admission fee. law school will make any history lesson that much more boring!

mr. gibson the youngest apparently planned for his house to become a museum, and so he decorated the library with lots of portraits of himself.

it might be difficult to tell from his expression, but here, adam is in a state of historical bliss.

the butcher shop

butcher shop by day, restaurant by night.

i'm definitely glad we went, but it was super overpriced, even for me. hey, everyone should have a $16 hot dog at least once.

craft beer fest

on my way to the country's largest craft beer fest!! I'M GONNA GET CRUNK!

boston world trade center

having mapped out the order in which i would sample all the beers, i was able to efficiently maximize my drunk time!

3.5 hours, unlimited samples. winning beer for me was called "quinn," a rum-barrel aged porter, though admittedly my taste buds may have been off by that point. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/688/68922

my favorite new brewery would probably be surly.

all in all, a terrific time. no vomming and by the end, adam was talking about how much he loves my baby names. complete success.

publick house

i think we both would have enjoyed the publick house more if we had not walked there. they had a nice selection of craft brews on one side, and another bar serving belgians.

we came all this way for a founder's breakfast stout and a dirty bastard. love the glassware, though.

friday night

last night we took a fairly substantial hike from our apartment to the coolidge corner theatre in brookline. we passed by this awesome building, which turned out to be harvard med school.

heading into suburbia, i took a picture of a house that i would like adam to buy for me.

then, we passed this totally unnecessary and creepy storefront display.

finally, we made it to the movie, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. the theater was pretty sweet; adam enjoyed its historical value, while i appreciated the selection of craft beers on tap.

sunset grill and tap

over 100 beers on tap + make your own sampler for $10= heaven. look at those sampler glasses! perfection.

beers clockwise from top left are:
BBC coffeehaus porter nitro
left hand twin sister
troegs flying mouflan
great divide colette farmhouse

i made sure to take home a menu so i can more meticulously plan out my future beer consumption. drinking is hard work!

i plan on returning ASAP - perhaps to celebrate adam's first paycheck with the two ounce, $20 tasting of sam adams "utopias."
